 Details: Situated 15 kilometres from Murgon in the South Burnett, Lake Barambah, also known as Bjelke-Petersen Dam, is a popular area for recreational freshwater fishing, boating, picnicking and camping, with facilities many would envy. Boondooma Homestead Museum & Heritage Complex
 Details: The complex represents a step back in time to 1847, when the Lawson brothers with Robert Alexander established the Boondooma Station. As with other isolated stations in the early days, the homestead and surrounding acreage was built with the basic necessities similar to a small village. The remains of these buildings are 'in situ' today - the homestead which is being restored, the Stone Store, Post Office, and the grave of an early Manager. To this has been added a Museum, DPI Hut, toilet block and Caretaker's residence.

 Details: A comprehensive history of the Dairy Industry in Queensland from pioneering days through to modern day is covered at the Murgon Dairy Museum. The displays not only give an insight to the production of milk, cream and cheese, it also covers the life of the early pioneers, showing housing, farming implements and the like. To add a modern touch, the local Murgon artists have used 2m by 1m cows as their canvas to adorn the fence line of the Museum, the Cavalcade of Cows are heading towards the Dairy Museum just as the real cow headed towards the dairy.

 Details: The South Burnett Region Timber Museum in Wondai was officially opened on 24 November 2001 and is proving to be a popular destination with travellers.  Details: Tingoora - Aboriginal for 'wattle tree' - is located 22 kilometres north of Kingaroy on the Bunya Highway. The social hub of this small but vital community is the local hotel, which was reportedly the first public building in town, established in 1900. Tingoora was originally settled for the rich agricultural land which surrounds it, and soon the bustling railway station was the centre of activities in the town as the lush crops were transported around the district.
