Maidenwell Astronomical Observatory is in the only town in the entire Southern Hemisphere to have all its street lights replaced by those that don't shine back up into the night skies.
A new 60 seat Star Theatre for daytime sessions has been added as well as full camping facilities for school and community groups. There is plenty of parking on site for buses, coaches and cars.
The Observatory is located 30 kilometres south of Nanango and the Bunya Mountains and a hop, step and jump from the Maidenwell Hotel where they are big on food, cold beer and hospitality.

Built in 1908, Ringsfield House is an attractive centre for museum displays, art and craft displays and small functions. Ringsfield is the repository for historical photographs and printed data. So come and take a guided tour of this spectacular historical building and sit on the wide verandah and enjoy a relaxing cup of Devonshire tea.

The Yarraman Heritage Centre is situated in the heart of Yarraman on two and three quarter acres. There are eight historic buildings on the site including what was once a Sisters of Mercy Convent. This is a two story building 25 metres by 15 metres. The internal walls are stained tongue and groove crows ash timber. Also included are the Yarraman Railway Station and Arthur Brown's Butcher Shop and original slab hut.
