Wondai

... sculptured beauty

Centrally situated in the vibrant South Burnett, Wondai is located in between the towns of Murgon and Kingaroy.

As you enter this picturesque rural town you will note several attractions clustered around its attractive round-a-bout precinct. These include dingo sculptures, an art gallery, antique shops and a historic museum just around the corner.

Wondai Stop into the unique timber museum, developed as a Centenary of Federation Project and take in the excellent display of local woods and wood history as well as the wonderfully detailed, life-size diorama. A comprehensive Visitor Information Centre is also located in this building. Pop next door, into the Woodcrafter’s Workshop and watch local wood-turners fashioning all types of wooden crafts. From bowls to pens, spinning tops to cruet sets, watch this fascinating art in progress!

Having worked up an appetite, stop into the craft cottage and tea gardens for a bite of lunch and then head out to the nearby cellar door. Stay in comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation and enjoy the luxury facilities onsite.
