Art & Craft Galleries
The South Burnett region is teeming with local artists and crafters, eager to show off their wares.
Take time to wander through the towns of the South Burnett, including Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai, Murgon, Goomeri and Kilkivan…you’re sure to find a few shops proudly displaying locally-made items.
Foxy Ladies Quilting in the small township of Wooroolin is just one example of the quality of arts and crafts in the South Burnett. Further displays can be found at the Kingaroy Arts, Heritage and Information Precinct in Kingaroy.
The Wondai Shire Art Gallery, in the old stationmaster’s residence, has a changing program of exhibitions, highlighting works by local painters, and is considered one of the best little regional galleries in Queensland.

The Wondai Shire Regional Art Gallery was opened in 1999 in the refurbished Wondai Station Master's residence, right on the main roundabout in the heart of Wondai township. This bright, modern, air-conditioned gallery has quickly become a hub of the Shire's artistic and cultural life.
It offers regular monthly exhibitions and an innovative "Art on Poles" outreach program which is gradually seeing original artworks mounted on distinctive red poles at strategic locations throughout Wondai Shire.
