Maidenwell Astronomical Observatory is in the only town in the entire Southern Hemisphere to have all its street lights replaced by those that don?t shine back up into the night skies.
A new 60 seat Star Theatre for daytime sessions has been added as well as full camping facilities for school and community groups. There is plenty of parking on site for buses, coaches and cars.
The Observatory is located 30 kilometres south of Nanango and the Bunya Mountains and a hop, step and jump from the Maidenwell Hotel where they are big on food, cold beer and hospitality.
