National Parks

The South Burnett is home to the second oldest national park, the Bunya Mountains National Park, with nine major walking tracks offering breathtaking views and a stunning range of flora and fauna.

The small Palms National Park, 18 kilometres south-west of Yarraman, has a circuit walk through the thick stands of ancient piccabeen palms.

There are also numerous state parks and conservation parks throughout the South Burnett, including the Emu Creek State Forest Park near Benarkin, Mudlo Conservation Park near Kilkivan, the Mount Wooroolin Nature Refuge near Kingaroy, and Boat Mountain Conservation Park near Murgon.
